Note that high stats have a bigger impact in BT3 remastered than in BT3 classic. * In BT1 and BT2 classic, stats cap at 18. To answer the question in your other topic: (In BT3 remastered, you'll want high Luck on the Hunter.) With that said, saving throws improve with level in BT1/BT2 they will get good enough by level 36 (when it caps out), while in BT3 the cap is gone, so you can compensate for low LUCK by gaining more levels. * LUCK affects saving throws, both offensively and defensively. Note that these effects are not retroactive, but also note that XP requirements stop increasing eventually, and there's no level cap (unless you exceed the limits that the game can represent). * CON affects HP gain at level up INT affects SP gain. I believe it also affects the growth rate of Hunter and Thief skills (but not item identifiaction that uses INT). * DEX affects AC, as you've problably noticed. some of that doesn't make sense though, but the order should be there once sifted through. you can see the list of variables in the saved game file. the level drain value counts up from zero - the subtracted value. So, there is a difference, but it's not that big. I can add that the level drain is after max level. * 18 STR means, I believe +3 to damage per hit compared to 1 STR, so a difference of 24 damge if you have 8 attacks. You *probably* want to do this before you level up (in at least one classic version, not doing so makes the stat loss permanent). * Of course, in any of the games you can go to a temple and pay to have this ailment cured. The Youth Potion casts this spell when used, but has limited uses. * BT3: There's a Chronomancer spell called Youth (code OLAY) that will cure it. * BT2 Classic (not remaster): Just cast Heal All or the Dreamspell (doesn't work in the remaster or in BT3) 50 Paladin with all 1/1/1/1 stats, assuming everything else was equal? OLD can be cured the following ways: 50 Paladin with all 18/18/18/18/18 stats does almost the same amount of damage as a lv. Which made me wonder.what do stata even do then? Does this mean that a lv. It was still one or two-shotting enemies. My Paladin wasn't doing *that badly*, even though it was OLD. (CAN this even be fixed with a spell? I went through all of the spells in the game manual, and I couldn't figure out which spell cured the OLD status)īut then I noticed something. I don't have any spells that can remedy this yet. buy them back so that you don't lose them.Bliznik: So I'm grinding my way through the sewers, and my Paladin was withered and god OLD. should be all dandy.Īlways double check if the item you sold is an "inferior" item before leaving shop. re-load the saved game, double check shop. double-ceck before leaving shop.Īnyway, rinse-repeat the first portion of adding "FF FF FF FF" after the new names listed in shop section of saved game file. the important thing is that they will no longer be inferior quality. Note: you will not get to buy them with 99 charges, but you can always change that after buying more easily with cheat engine or something similar. So, that's saved / closed hex editor etc, re-load that saved game file and resell those items in inventory with increased charges. The only item i cannot say for sure if it works on is the Dayblade. then, just below shop section should be inventory, if not search for one of the items you bought back. add "FF FF FF FF" after all the new shop items that did take. I would sell everything and then buy up anything that was "inferior" / green color coded. save where appropriately so as not to damage your file / lose something etc. LVLm: maximum level (all class levels added, only really applicable to casters, and this is the level they seem to resist at, for example if you went conjurer to 14th then sorceror to 14th, this would be 28 (1c in hex) ) NAME: name of the character (start of character file?) The numbers are stuff I haven't figured out (or tried to) yet:
